To: The Original Dog House Staff

Dear Uncle David…..and all my unties and uncles at The Original Dog House.

My mummy is helping me with this letter because she is better at typing, but im telling her what to say.

I first started coming to school here when I was 4 ½ months old (I’m 9 months old now). I didn’t really know how to play. I pretended to be a fierce, strong dog, so nobody would know how scared I was.

I didn’t do so well in my interview and Mummy was sad. But uncle David said he would help me. With a little work, I could come to school and would do just fine.

Well, Uncle David was right!! Now I love coming to school and seeing my buddies and my unties and uncles. I love them all!

I’m brave when I get groomed, I eat all my lunch, I play with everybody and give everybody kisses. I stayed her for camp with some of my buddies after being “tutored”, I think they said. I slept a lot but it was really nice.

Mummy and Daddy tell lots of people at the park about my school, especially if their dogs are grumpy or growly. They say I’m a whole new dog. I don’t know about that. But I know I am really happy dog with lots of friends.

I still have some things to learn, but learning is fun!!

Thank you

Your friend Rollo & my mom “Kristine Vikmanis”

P.S

Mummy says I was named for marauding Viking who made the French give him Normandy. I guess “Rollo the granger” was a really tough guy!

It is with sadness and disbelief that we announce the untimely passing of Wavey.
What can we say about Wavey, she was the most perfectly imperfect ‘Portuguese Water Dog’. When we think about Wavey the words which come to mind are Comical, Mischievous, Loud and Happy, Wavey was in love with life and particularly her own.

Wavey was also a one of a kind girl who would manage to steal the hearts of all who would come to know her and if you were not careful she would also steal your lunch. As such, we can say that Doggie Heaven will certainly be shaken up with Wavey’s arrival; things will never be the same again up there.

Wavey first joined The Original Dog House in 2005 and from that time it would always be an exciting adventure for us when Wavey was around and yet now that she is no longer here she has left behind an emptiness which cannot be filled.

The entire staff at The Original Dog House wishes to extend their most sincere condolences to Wavey’s family, mainly Bonnie (Mom), Peter (Dad), Cobi & Jessy.

“Rest in Peace Girl”

We will always remember you with smiles on our faces.
Luke & Winston , Yael & Dana , Sarah & Sam , Megan & Kody ,
Lori, Islay & Molly and Allyssa

Wavey girl, you were always an exciting challenge when arriving at The Dog House, we all could hear your excited barking long before you would enter the building and I would always chuckle (to myself) when I would see the look of embarrassment on your Mom’s or Dad’s faces. I guess you just could not help being happy when you would come to visit us. However, you were also an excellent member of our pack and your comical and sweet personality endeared you to all of us.
I will miss you very much, not to mention all the wonderful little gifts your Mom would always bring in for us.
From now on you will not be in pain any more, until we meet again girl.

With love from David and your 2 good friends Dash & Loo

David:

How can I ever thank you for everything you and your associates have done to help me and my English Springer Spaniel, Charlie.

We both arrived at the doors of The Original Doghouse 5 months ago full of fear. Charlie was aggressive with other dogs and occasionally with people, especially men. You talked with us and played a little with the still frightened Charlie and I felt confident enough to leave him with you for 10 days of behavior training.

When I returned I discovered that you had taught Charlie how to act around other dogs, how to play, how to walk on lead and how to relax.

Charlie now bounds up the stairs of The Original Dog House on his doggie-day-care days and confidently enters your “fun” room filled with his other four legged friends.

I still have work to do with him but I no longer dread walking him, I look forward to it.

You have given me back my life.

David, I think you work miracles.

Yours truly

Shaylea (who will be three in February) has been coming to The Original Dog House since she was a puppy. I’ve never written a testimonial before and really don’t know where to start but to simply say, how grateful I am.

Our family consisted of our beloved dog Chelsey, a majestic Golden Retriever who passed away at the age of 14, and Tiger our 9 year old. Tiger missed his playmate and we decided we would love to have another golden.

Shaylea, “the ever ready bunny” never tired. She had plenty of walks, played with Tiger, but she never tired. She had plenty of walks, played with Tiger, but she never slept! Even though I was an experienced dog owner; I could not provide for Shaylea what she needed. She definitely had an Alpha Personality and non stop energy.

I started looking into Doggie Day Care (for my sanity) but after 4 months of checking almost every facility – nothing met my standard. Professional, educated staff, cleanliness, webcam, rubberized flooring, were some of the things I was looking for and at The Original Dog House I found it.

With David’s expertise; his patience and kindness, he helped me to become a pack leader to my dog and in return, Shaylea is well behaved and a joy to be with. She is also well socialized from playing with her “friends” as dogs can teach each other valuable lessons using their own language.

David is a perfectionist and will not tolerate any less from his team. Any time I need to ask a question or have a concern; it is taken care of immediately. Luke (manager and administrator) is fabulous. His love for dogs is evident when Shaylea runs to greet him; he is knowledgeable, confident and has also helped me tremendously as well.

I highly recommend this top-notch facility, with structured play and walks, reinforced training and a team that displays a genuine love for animals. The Original Dog House provide a safe and secure environment and our dogs are monitored at all times. I have observed many times (when taking a break from work) viewing the webcam and seeing one of the staff members hugging Shaylea; that makes me feel so good! 

I would personally like to thank David for going “that extra mile for me”.

Best regards, from my whole family Steve, Gilda, Tiger and Shaylea.

Not that long after we got Cooper, we noticed your billboard ad on Mount Pleasant and the announcement of your opening which we attended. We were so impressed we applied and were accepted, which was great news for us and better news for Cooper.

We were looking to create an opportunity for Cooper to develop his social skills, around other dogs and around people. Your facility and your approach were ideal for us. We also took advantage of some personalized training from David, which helped Cooper to respond properly to the circumstances, though at 9 months this still is a lesson to be mastered.

Cooper recognizes the routine on the days he is taken to daycare, as we head off to work or our day’s activities. He thoroughly enjoys his time with you and comes home wonderfully exhausted from all the activities of the day.

He has mastered your stairs, which was an interesting challenge for him and us and now he just bolts up the stairs with enthusiasm but also under control.

Thanks to all of you for your interest, enthusiasm and genuine enjoyment of all the dogs that get to go to doggy daycare with you.

We wish you all the best for your continued success. Cooper, for his part, will continue to be one of your regular, fully satisfied clients.

Personal Regards,
